I’m Alastair Luft, an author, speaker, and 20-year veteran of the Canadian military. My debut novel, The Battle Within, was published in 2017, my second novel, Jihadi Bride, came out in 2019, and my third novel, One Kingdom Under Heaven, was published in 2021. I’m a graduate of Humber College’s Graduate Certificate Program in Creative Writing, and also have a Master of Arts in Creative and Critical Writing from the University of Gloucestershire.

Beyond writing, I enjoy public speaking. I spoke on how violence begets violence at the 2017 Signal vs Noise event in Calgary, and in 2019 I spoke about how art can be a light in the darkness at the inaugural TEDx Don Mills event.
